Getting Started as a HUM Driver
This guide walks you through every step required to get started on HUM. Follow each step carefully and keep an eye on your email and SMS, as that is where we send updates throughout the approval process.
1. Download the HUM Driver App
Search “HUM Driver” in the App Store or Google Play and install the app.
Important:
Turn auto-updates ON so you always have the latest version. HUM is updated frequently.
2. Create Your Account
Open the app and:
Enter your phone number
Enter the one-time passcode (OTP) you receive
Your phone number becomes your driver login

Only one phone number per vehicle is allowed
If you operate multiple vehicles, you will need separate accounts
3. Complete Your Basic Profile
Fill out the required information:
Full name
Email address
City or primary work area (choose the location most representative of where you drive)
Vehicle details
Upload a clear selfie (driver image)
Once submitted, your application enters our review queue.
4. Watch for Email and SMS Instructions
We manually review every new applicant each day. This means it may take a few hours for you to progress to the next step.
When your profile passes the initial review, you will receive instructions (via email and SMS) to upload the remaining documents:
Driver’s license
Vehicle registration
Proof of personal auto insurance
Vehicle photos
Personal address
Subscription purchase (or Flex plan selection)
5. Upload Required Documents
You must upload valid and current documents.
Yes, you still need your own personal auto insurance.
HUM provides commercial coverage for HUM trips. Your personal insurance ensures you are legally able to drive in your state.
6. Choose Your Plan: Subscription or Flex
You will be prompted to select:
Monthly Subscription: keep 100 percent of fares
Flex: pay $50 upfront + per-trip insurance assessment
Either option is required before activation.
7. Complete Your Background Check
You will receive a separate link to complete your Background Check and MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) Report.
Drivers are responsible for the background check and MVR fee(s)
HUM does not cover this cost because we do not take a percentage of your fares

8. Final Review and Activation
After your documents, subscription/Flex plan, and background check are completed:
HUM reviews your full application
Activation is not instantaneous
It may take a few hours before your app is activated
If more than 12 hours pass after purchasing your Subscription/Flex plan, email help@humrideshare.com
9. Stay Connected
HUM sends important updates by SMS and Email, including:
Document reminders
Activation notices
Policy and safety updates
New features and earning opportunities
You may unsubscribe, but you will miss essential updates that affect your account.
